We are saddened to say goodbye to Girls Basketball Coach, Desiree Almaraz. She has been a huge blessing to Western and she will be missed. We wish her the very best and thank the Lord for the time she invested in developing the girl’s program the past two years.

Coach Lindsey Gutzwiller & Fiance Pastor Chris Wilson

God continues to be faithful to Western and we are very excited to welcome Coach Lindsey Gutzwiller to the Western Christian High School family as our new Head Varsity Girls Basketball Coach. Lindsey, a native of Covina, California, graduated from Western Christian in 2007. She lettered in Varsity Basketball and Softball. She attended Azusa Pacific University, majoring in English with an emphasis in Literature. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in 2010. Ms. Gutzwiller will also be teaching Freshman and Sophomore English at Western. She is currently working toward her Master’s Degree and Teaching Credential.

Her education prepared her for working with children and families. Her enthusiasm for learning and developing relationships has led her to acquire a passion for coaching girls sports. For the past three years she has coached girls varsity and junior varsity basketball and softball at Vivian Webb High School. Her goal as a coach is to develop well-rounded student-athletes that demonstrate the love of God on and off the court. Her teaching and coaching philosophy is to teach life-long lessons, build God-honoring relationships, and have fun.

Lindsey is engaged and will marry Pastor Chris Wilson, who is on staff at The Foothill, this July, 2011. They will reside in Glendora.
