Students from the Western Christian middle school in Claremont spent Tuesday morning decorating a Christmas tree at George M. Gibson Senior Center.
The students arrived about 9:30 a.m. and decorated the tree, sang holiday songs and passed out gifts.
“We’re trying to do a lot more outreach in our community for our kids to really learn about serving and how important it is to be involved in the community,” said Karen Winter, superintendent of Western Christian Schools.
Western Christian Schools administrators have been organizing outreach opportunities for the students. Students from Western Christian High School in Upland will be decorating a Christmas tree at Upland City Hall between noon and 2 p.m. today.
