WCHS Students Selected for Rotary Youth Leadership Awards

Each year, thousands of young people ages 14-30 take part in the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) program worldwide. Participants, who are chosen for their potential as leaders, attend an all-expenses-paid seminar, camp, or workshop to discuss leadership skills and learn them through practice. Rotary clubs and districts select attendees and facilitate the events. It is an honor for students to be selected to attend this event.
WCHS juniors Elbee Castro and Dylan Todd were both selected by Rotary for their commitment to being leaders where they demonstrate influence. They are young men of integrity who model a desire to change their school community for the better. Western is a special place because of students like Elbee and Dylan.
“I would like to offer my appreciation for being nominated, to be interviewed by the Rotary Club from our school, and being selected to join the group of students for the Rotary Youth Leadership Award two thousand and tine at Idyllwild.
I was proud to represent Western Christian High School in that gathering of high school Students from various schools, states, and countries.
From my experience, Western Christian High school is highly regarded by the Rotary Club members. Once again thank you for giving me the chance to represent our school during the Rotary youth leader ship award two thousand nine.
Respectfully,
Elbee Castro”
