On February 8th the girls went to Soka University, in Aliso Viejo, and competed at the US Spirit Leaders Extreme competition. This was a unique competition due to it being the time to receive a bid for their Nationals, and it was a different set up then most competitions.

Once again our ladies came out on top and took First place and received a bid for nationals! The girls competed, and did a amazing job making everyone wonder, who is this Christian school? Then right after they got off the mat the girls picked 1 of 3 judges, American Idol style, to talk to them about their performance. The girls impressed the judges, who loved the girls from beginning to end, and received a 92 score!
In the this competition we competed against Simi Valley High School, and Esperanza High School whom are both D1 teams. We were all very excited to not only raise the bar competition wise, but also to be a Christian school who makes a statement.
This competition did a basket off, which you only put 1 group to go out there and do their best basket, and our group including Erica Lopez, Janey Darling, Christine Porter, Amber Nila, and Rachelle Gustafson, took first place! It was a great experience for us all, and we are very excited to compete at US Spiritleaders King of the Bleachers Nationals on February 22nd.
