WCHS Takes First Place at Sharp Cheer Competition

On January 24th our Varsity Cheer squad competed at a Sharp competition at Whittier High School. The Lancer cheerleaders made quite an impression on the judges and crowd from the moment they hit the floor.
In the Medium Varsity division our ladies took first place! They then continued to receive awards for 1st place in all of Varsity, which is a combination of all divisions together. The girls also impressed the judges so much that they received the Judges award, which is given out to the team the judges liked the most from the whole competition.
At Sharp competitions there is also a stunt, jump, and tumble off which our girls did very well at as too. In the stunt off Taylor Marcucci, Rachelle Gustafson, Elisa Vazquez, and Alexa Ratliff’s group took first place and really made a impression. The crowd, including all the other cheerleaders was screaming due to being so wowed by their talent. In the jump off Ashliann Taylor took third place showing the judges what great techniques looks like. We are very proud of our girls, and their continued success.
