WCHS Takes First Place at Sharp Cheer Competition

On January 24th our Varsity Cheer squad competed at a Sharp competition at Whittier High School. The Lancer cheerleaders made quite an impression on the judges and crowd from the moment they hit the floor.

In the Medium Varsity division our ladies took first place! They then continued to receive awards for 1st place in all of Varsity, which is a combination of all divisions together. The girls also impressed the judges so much that they received the Judges award, which is given out to the team the judges liked the most from the whole competition.

WCHS students gather for the 2009 Presidential Inauguration

It was history in the making and the entire school met under the tent to watch the Presidential Inauguration of President Elect, Barak Obama, as the 44th President and the first African/American elected to the office of President of the United States of America. Regardless of political preference, we took time as a school to pray for President Obama and to ask God to give him wisdom and discernment as he leads our nation and the world through perilous times.

Please continue for pray for our President, that he will seek God’s wisdom and surround himself with godly counsel according to God’s word.

Winter Sports Update 01/06/09

Happy New Year Lancer Family,
I hope all of you had a relaxing and wonderful two week celebration of the birth of our savior.  The break was good to our athletic programs as they participated in numerous tournaments all over California.  There is a lot of winning going on around here and the girls, boys, and coaches are doing a good job of keeping us competitive.  So here is how it went:
