| This class offers a study of the fundamentals of information systems. The primary objective of the class is to prepare students for academic and professional computer use. This class will primarily focus on learning the latest edition of the Windows operating system. Business and personal use of applications are discussed and demonstrated. Typing lessons are also provided. | ||

| Web and Graphic Design 1 students will explore the endless capabilities of the computer. HTML, Graphic Design, Flash Animation, Computer Hardware, and Beginning Computer Programming will be integrated in an application-based course. | ||

| This class will be an application-based course which will utilize students’ strengths developed in Web Programming and Graphic Design 1 to help create and update Western Christian’s web site. The students will get to choose from graphic design, flash animations, HTML editing, photography or web programming and will be able to develop their skills at a higher level. Students will gain web– development experience equivalent to that of a professional organization. | ||

| Speech and Debate is an academic course that develops students’ aptitude for public speaking, reasoning and critical thinking skills, and an awareness of current events. Students gain these skills by participating in monthly in-class debates. Debate styles include Lincoln-Douglas value debate and Parliamentary debate. | ||

| The student will learn about the high and low impact step-class with emphasis on cardiovascular fitness. The student will identify the basic terms i.e., maximum heart rate, resting heart rate, recovery pulse rate, warm-up, and cool down. The student will identify the basic breathing techniques required for aerobic exercise. | ||

| Each player will learn about the rules and regulations of the sport and sportsmanship. Each player will learn about the personal, social and spiritual developments of participating in team sports. | Students will learn the proper lifting/training and safety techniques associated with each muscle group. The students will be placed on a lifting regiment dependant upon what they are training for. | Worship Band is an instrumental/vocal ensemble providing weekly worship and music leadership in chapel. Class will include but not be limited to a study about worship, biblical principles on leadership, reading music and learning vocals. Rehearsals are daily. | ||
| Prerequisites: 1. Must be a Christian 2. Complete application by the 3rd quarter of the school year for all returning students, application includes: written testimony, reference from a pastor, experience in worship ministry, written paragraph on “What is Worship?” and character reference from Bible teacher. 3. Have a GPA of 2.5 and above. If GPA falls below 2.5 at any grading period; the student loses platform privileges. If student remains below 2.5 for two consecutive grading periods, this may result in removal from class and a loss of credit. 4. Live audition and interview by Bible chair, Bible teachers, and administrative representation. 5. Uphold student worship leadership contract (includes: support and comply with school rules and policies not only during school hours, but 24/7). |
