LETTER FROM THE COMMITTEE CHAIRPERSON
The Western Christian High School Athletic Booster Committee was formed for the purpose of providing support for all of the Western Christian High School Athletic programs. In order to support these programs the group raises funds and stimulates active interest among students, parents, faculty, staff and the community at large.
As a Christian school, the committee keeps in mind that the preeminent principle in any endeavor is not to win championships but to prepare our young men and women for their battle to maintain Christian ethics and morals in a secular society. Thus, we are mindful of our duty to build character in our athletes through showing them that the job will not get done if you sit on the sidelines. If we want them to make an impression on those around them, we must make an impression on them through our own actions. We must support our coaches so that our children learn to respect their leaders. We must support Western Christian so that our children learn to respect their school. Most importantly, we must support our children so that they learn that the love of their parents as unconditional as the love of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Therefore, I would ask that you get in the game and get off the sidelines because it is only with your help and support that the Athletic Booster Committee can support our athletic programs. We are responsible for organizing many events throughout the year. These include seasonal Meet the Team events, Champions of Tomorrow, Concert Under the Stars and a Spring Golf Tournament. All of the proceeds from these functions will go to benefit all of the athletic teams here at Western Christian High School.
We have also spearheaded the building of a new sports field on the southeast corner of the campus. This field will serve as home to our football and soccer teams starting on September 13, 2008. We believe that this will stimulate pride in our student athletes and raise the bar at Western to a new level.
We look forward to a very successful year, both on and off the field. If you would like to get in the game, please feel free to call any of the Board members. We have several positions that are waiting to be filled by energetic and motivated individuals. We would appreciate any and all forms of support and look forward to serving you in the future.
